Cornelia has always had a passion for flowers. She speaks their language fluently, deliberately. Words like forsythia and delphinium are near incantations, conspiring with the sly loveliness of the natural world.
After
growing up in Chicago and earning a degree in
fine art from the Art Institute of Chicago,
she moved to Manhattan. Then she began a series
of apprenticeships in floral design with some
of the leaders in the field. Legendary event
design firm Avi Adler appointed Cornelia as
one of their primary floral consultants in 1999.
There she relished the experience of working
on events internationally and in the U.S., many
of which are unprecedented in their originality
and lavishness. In 2003 she founded Cornelia
McNamara Inc.
Whether
it be a classic upper eastside wedding or a
rap superstar’s house party, a cultural
gala, or a dramatic product launch, Cornelia’s
remarkable stamp on any event is met with uniform
delight. Her clientele happily rely on her insider’s
knowledge, discretion and effortless talent.
