Minimalism proved a keen lens through which to view the season for this design dinner. Fall is such a maddeningly beautiful, chaotic season; I think this simplicity flatters it. These “firethorn” berries are gorgeous, but deadly with masses of thorns. When I was a freelancer back in the day,  Paco, Dawn and I used to joke about needing remotely controlled robots to make soaring arrangements of them for Avi and David.
