We had the honor of gilding this lily of a home decorated by legendary interior decorators Nora Marra Interiors for the Traditional Home 2014 Christmas issue. For the tree, we sourced a rare 7ft Blue Spruce whose lovely blue-green needles complemented the faint tones of silver and palest aqua throughout the drawing-room. The tree shimmered with hand made garlands of vintage mercury glass beads and paper heart ornaments made from vintage books. We had the family’s ancestral tartan woven into custom ribbons in Scotland, which served as a focal element in the office. The leather rhino footstool even got its own wreath of icy blue thistle and a big tartan bow. A centerpiece of fuchsia gloriosa lilies, lady apples and garden roses made a standout statement as the only spot of color in the home, drawing attention to one of the most important parts of the season, the holiday table.
