URBS IN HORTO
January 27, 2013
We had the honor of decorating a graduation ceremony at Garfield Park Conservatory for our friends at Greencorps Chicago last week. Chicago was planned around parks and gardens, and in 1837 when it was incorporated, the motto “Urbs in Horto” was chosen, meaning City in Garden. Community gardening and urban agriculture are booming now, but the history of the city’s green spaces is always just as fun to geek out about!
