Prairie School
August 4, 2013
We were lucky to be working inside of a tree museum this past weekend at The Morton Arboretum. This incredibly sweet couple of love-bird, low-key architects wanted decor with clean lines and organic loveliness for their wedding; so we served up tons of fragrant tuberose, plus lace-cap hydrangea and garden roses in sleek kiri wood boxes on moss linen runners. Sheltered by century’s old oak trees and wreathed in plantings of fruited sage, honey suckle and rare magnolias, the ceremony took place in the Fragrance Garden. We festooned the wedding arch with 50 gardenias, just to be sure the Fragrance Garden knows who’s boss. We even carved out time for our own touring of the restored prairie, can’t wait for snow snow shoeing in winter…
